ESPN Apps and ESPN iPhone Apps Offer a Variety of Ways to Consume Sports

Posted on 12:00 by blogger

The amount of sports content and access has reached unprecedented levels. Following the proliferation of smartphones, fans have available at their fingertips sports news, updates, stories and highlights on a 24/7 basis. A trailblazer in the sports media industry, ESPN has developed a slate of ESPN apps and ESPN iPhone apps so fans can access its content and offerings whenever and wherever they like.

Many sports news outlets compete for users and viewers, providing 24/7 breaking news coverage, updates and highlights across multiple platforms. ESPN is one of the leaders in the space, delivering live games across numerous sports, live and taped studio coverage, breaking news and entertaining content.  As a way to extend beyond its television coverage, ESPN has also significantly invested in developing content for mobile devices with several ESPN apps and ESPN iPhone apps.  The apps include its ESPN ScoreCenter, WatchESPN and ESPN Streak for the Cash, among others, which provide score and news updates, live streaming and a gaming experience, respectively.

Fans who play and enjoy the ESPN app ESPN Streak for the Cash, which challenges fans to correctly pick the final outcome of match-ups and create the longest possible streak of correct guesses, will find other iPhone apps that also provide a fun way to interact with sports. For example, PickPointz is similar to an ESPN iPhone app in that it lets fans engage with sports beyond watching a game or reading the latest news. Rather PickPointz actually rewards its users for correct guesses, earning real-value points that can be redeemed for gift cards, sports memorabilia and merchandise.  Unlike some ESPN apps that require participation before a game begins, PickPointz gives the user the unique experience of engaging throughout a live game and making picks based on real-time information.

The slate of ESPN apps and ESPN iPhone apps vary greatly in their offerings. While many sports fans will find appeal in the ESPN apps, they’ll also find other alternatives for ways to engage with the sports they love and have an even more immersive experience.
